A Glow-in-the-Dark Yellow Fruit

A Glow-in-the-Dark Yellow Fruit

Everyone knows that bananas are yellow, but did you know that ripe bananas glow bright blue under UV lights (commonly known as black lights)? According to scientists, the blue glow is caused by chlorophyll degradation during ripening. The chlorophyll in green, unripe bananas absorbs most of the fluoresced blue light, preventing them from glowing. As bananas ripen, colorless but fluorescing breakdown products of chlorophyll are concentrated in the banana peel.

  • A passage of speech or writing that is repeated word for word

  • The estimated price of a print project

When a printer sends you a cost estimate for your project, it’s called a quote.
